Day 1 :

Arrival in Rwanda and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide, who will assist you with your luggage and provide an overview of your safari itinerary. From the airport, you will embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, which takes approximately 2.5 hours. This picturesque journey will take you through lush hills and vibrant local communities, giving you a glimpse of Rwanda's beautiful landscape, often referred to as the "Land of a Thousand Hills."

Upon arrival at your accommodation near the park, you will check in, freshen up, and relax. In the afternoon, if time permits, you can take a guided nature walk or visit the Iby'iwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwandan culture and traditions. Enjoy a delicious dinner at your lodge and prepare for the exciting adventure of gorilla trekking that awaits you the following day.

Day 2 :

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers. They will provide important information about gorilla trekking, including safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a respectful and memorable encounter with the mountain gorillas. Following the briefing, you will be assigned to a gorilla group and set off on your trek into the dense rainforests of Volcanoes National Park.

The trek can vary in length, ranging from a few hours to a full day, depending on the location of the gorilla family you are tracking. As you hike through the forest, you’ll have the opportunity to see various wildlife, including birds, monkeys, and unique plant species. Day 3 :

Departure and Optional Activities

After breakfast and check-out, you can choose to partake in optional activities based on your departure schedule. One popular option is to visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International to learn more about the conservation efforts for mountain gorillas and the legacy of the renowned primatologist. Alternatively, you can enjoy a scenic hike to the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, where you can take in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Following your activities, you will return to Kigali for a city tour, where you can visit significant sites, such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, to learn about the country’s history and resilience.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, taking with you lasting memories of your incredible gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda.
